MENGDI GROUP CONTINUES ITS COMMITMENT AGAINST COVID-19
Mengdi Group, confirming the philosophy that identifies itself, decided to be a leading actor in the fight against Covid-19 trying to do what is in its possibilities to respond to the needs of the territories in which the Group operates, without looking at physical or mental borders.
In January, the Jiaxing office asked its Italian partner Mengdi Italia to search and send surgical masks FFP2 and FFP3 disposals with and without filter, to China. The whole thing was carried out with a donation of masks worth 8060 euros, delivered to the hospital of Jiaxing city at a time when this type of products were nowhere to be found on Chinese territory.
Now that the emergency has moved to Italy, Mr Tom Zhu, owner of the Ca’Vagan Venezia brand and administrator of the company Jiaxing Mengdi Import & Export, financially supported its Italian office Mengdi Italia, allowing it to make a donation to the USL Tuscany Hospital Center of Prato amounting to 2800 euros in blood diagnostic kits, KN95 masks, protective suits and isolating suits. The delivery of the material is taking place these days in accordance with the timing of shipping and customs practices.
We do not want to stop at this and we have given our availability to connect those who need this type of material with Chinese suppliers who produce it.
Since collaborations never originate by chance, we would like to point out that the creative director of Ca’Vagan Venezia brand and our fashion consultant, Ms Alda Santini, is producing masks and protective suits with her company, for the volunteers of the Misericordia in Agliana.
Last but not least, it is important to point out that our employees both in China and in Italy offices, have collaborated in this act of generosity too. The masks sent by Chinese employees to our Italian office were in fact donated to the Emergency Medical Service of the Province of Prato, believing that they would have needed the masks much more than ourselves.
Quoting Pope Francis:
“We were caught off guard by an unexpected and furious storm. We found ourselves fragile and disoriented on the same boat, but at the same time we are important and necessary, called to row together in the same direction and to comfort each other. We’re all on this boat. And we realized that we can’t go on each one on its own, but only together. No one saves himself.”
